Read in the paper some VERY GOOD news for the Kingdom of God in the Michiana area. Comcast has decided to drop their public access channel on December 15th.
I’m thinking that has to be a good thing for Jesus. So many of the public access programs are religious programs that are so bad and so cheesy that if I knew nothing about Christianity and that was the only exposure I had…I would think Christianity is for a bunch of nut jobs…is that too harsh?
Seriously – have you seen some of the programs on that channel?! Any favorites?

Yes I have and no favorites. And it is true that people base their thoughts about chrisitians and Jesus Christ on what they SEE, and what they SEE is a bunch of old, mumbly, boring people (with no excitement, Sam) bring the word of God to the masses. So when people SEE this, they pretty much are like, “wow this sucks, if this is what a christian is, then I don’t ever want to consider being one” The reason why I high-light SEE is because of the saying, “seeing is believing,” (some people feel they have to see it to understand or have faith in something.) People SEE these chrisitians on TV and start to draw their own, wrong, conclusions about Christians. So to bring this rant to a close, all I have to say is, if you say you’re a christian and you’re going to be on TV, act happy and inviting. That is what people like to SEE and that will draw people to better conclusions about christians.

Nah… it’s not being too harsh. When I lived in Memphis, some of the religious programing there just was out right scary, not to mention the fact that half of the issues they would address were questions that nobody in the real world cares about.
Now if we could just eterminate the other religious channels, all of those political screwball programs that run in the evening masquerading as news, then there would be even greater news for the kingdom of God.
Come to think of it, KILL OUR TELEVISIONS. Of course, my daughter would no longer be able to watch Sponge Bob and I would not be able to watch Notre Dame get whipped on (low blow
).
Grace and peace,
