Just because I’ve shared the rest…here is what I am assuming is the LAST letter I received from “concerned Christians.” I’ll offer it to you without commentary (which is very difficult for me
)
Dear Pastor:
It is critical for the protection of Israel, the defense of Christianity, and the prosperity of the American people that right-thinking persons be elected into high office. How will the responsibilities of the Oval Office be carried out if its occupant does not believe in the one true God, and reverence the principles that have made our country great? What character of person would sit for two decades without protest, at the feet of a preacher of a radicalism that is the antithesis of the teachings of Moses, and is anathema to the spirit of Christianity? How will our country fare if its new president does not have the good of all the people at heart, is not resolute in defending America against her enemies, and does not possess the wisdom, and the stamina, to grace the world’s most powerful office? This coming Tuesday, voters in Indiana and North Carolina will make a choice that will strongly influence whom the next occupant of the Oval Office will be. As persons of faith, we are urged to pray for “all that are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty” (1 Timothy 2:2). As fellow-overseers of the souls of those in our congregations, we have the responsibility to guide them in the principles involved in making the right choices. Let us, therefore, partake in urgent prayer, and powerful preaching this weekend, in view of a righteous result on May 6th.
With sincerity,
From Concerned Christians

Don’t worry, you will probably get a bunch more on letters in Oct..
What a bunch of weirdos. By the way, what’s with the pretty little designs by our comments? Is it some type of secret ranking system that you have? I like the pink ones!
Maybe I’ll get a pink one this time…
Ugh, I’m always teal.
Barak in ’09!! Woo-hoo!!! (Did I get a pink one?)
In other words, “How can God possibly work unless we make sure that people he approves of are in office?”
Have they ever read Daniel? Sheesh.
hmmm…I’m not sure about the designs next to your comments. Must be a WordPress thing. Are they snowflakes?!
Two comments — and these aren’t restricted to this letter, as I’ve heard similar sentiments in other places:
1) Why is the protection of Israel so much more important than the protection of Arab/Palestinian Christians? (Or Arab Muslims? Or Kurds?)
2) Are we supposed to believe that Obama’s membership in the UCofC (and his very public comments to concerning his spirituality) are a total sham? What evidence do we have that he doesn’t “believe in the one true God”? (Not that things have been that great with an extremely public Christian in the seat of power…)
I think I know who might be sending you these letters. There is an organization called ‘The Elijah Ministry’ or something along those lines. They’re a doomsday racketeering prophecy club that makes their money off herding people into fearing what the Bible says is coming in the future. I got a newsletter from them a year ago, before all the election nonsense started and it was all about Iran and their nuclear power and how Iran is going to be the end of the world if America doesn’t do something. The whole group are a bunch of fear-mongerers – just what the church needs more of. What? You don’t believe in Jesus – well let us tell you things that will literally SCARE the HELL out of you!!!
I have so many comments on this letter, I don’t know where to start.
So I’ll adhere to what I learned from watching “Cowboy Bob” as a child — “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” (I really need to follow that advice more often…)
Do right and risk the consequences!! Don’t vote for any of those 3 candidates! Write in Alan Keys for President He makes much more sense than these Bozos! They never do what they say when there elected anyway.
