Calvary Temple, now Southgate Church (excellent name given the fact that they are on Michigan & Chippewa which is the South Gate entrance of South Bend) got a new sign! So much better. Love new signs.

Calvary’s sign was not ugly. It was OLD. That is an old church. That was the only sign they ever had – and it was old when my parents started going there. I was born and dedicated in that church. It’s a little weird to me that they’re changing because we still know so many folks in the congregation. I’m glad they’re moving forward though. They’ve had a LOOOOOng and rough history of ups and downs through the years.

Been there as well. Before LSC, we were DCC, and we too had a LOOOOng and rough history…
Southgate has great things to come.
This sign is much better. I say that as one who remembers in very recent history what our sign looked like (oh my)…and am still aware that we meet in a building (whose color brick by the way looks like it might have been built the same time Southgate’s building was) with a particular look and architectural design we would not choose today.
Go South Side!

My first thought was, “love the new sign, just right, but it really makes the church look even more in need of a makeover.”
