My Prayer for Obama Speaking at Notre Dame

Dear Lord,

Please let Sunday get here quickly so Obama can give his commencement address at Notre Dame University and be done with it.  And then please let South Bend return to normal without flying airplanes, trucks, protests, news coverage, and Tribune articles.

In Jesus’ Name…Amen.

Oh…P.S. Lord…please give us a winning football season in the Fall!

  1. Sam, I have prayed that prayer so many time. We live right by Notre Dame and I get soooooo tired of trying to shield the kids from it and explainig those picures.

    Please keep praying……

  2. Amen

  3. What? No American Idol post? What kind of blog is this?

  4. Amen to that…except the football part! :-)

  5. AMEN!

  6. Ditto Lord :-) )

  7. P.P.S. and free tickets to a game for Melissa.

    Amen.

  8. Well said. I get to miss out on @LSC Sunday because I HAVE to be there to deal with this nonsense.

Especially to provide presence where hatemongers gather to take advantage and trample on their hard earned 1st amendment rights.

Sunday’s Comin’, but this week I’m more looking forward to Monday.

  9. AMEN & AMEN!

  10. O Lord, just a quick addendum to the prayer: Would you please work a miracle in the heart of this national leader and move him to use the authority and power of his office to stop the enemy from destroying the lives of the unborn innocents who are as much a part of your creation as a polar bear or endangered beetle – yea, much more for they are created in Your image. And to you be the praise and glory. Amen.

  11. … and that all of us who profess Jesus as Lord will help the Holy Spirit provide a safe haven of comfort and forgiveness for those who have chosen to terminate a pregnancy, even if in the long distant past.

… and that all of us who profess Jesus as Lord will make ourselves more available to help raise the children who were “kept,” whether through adoption, fostering, or mother-assistance.

    Amen.

  12. Amen to David’s prayer.

  13. You kind of stretched it on that last part didn’t you?

  14. I enjoyed this weekend. There was a big difference in the stuff that I am used to dealing with that comes from Notre Dame. I would rather deal and talk with the group that was there this past weekend than the entitlement demanding drunken domers anytime

I met Norma McCorvey and Joseph Landry. I didn’t care for Alan Keyes so after this point I will probably never mention that I met him.

Meeting Norma was monumental for me. I have a lot of respect for her. Joseph Landry bonded out and later came back and gave me a pin of “baby feet” that represents the size of a fetus’s feet at 10 weeks. He’s a seriously cool guy. I Googled his name and then realized how cool talking to him and getting the pin really was.

I pat searched and booked a priest ( the infamous Father Weslin ) and a nun. I felt really bad when I took away their Eucharist. Father Weslin was a hoot.

They were incredibly respectful to us and I am actually happy to have been involved. They were an older crowd with an average age of 50+ and the youngest was around 22. They came from all over the country.

They fight for something I believe in myself. It’s like I was telling Ed and other officer’s. They’re fighting against the slaughter of children. If you call trespassing a crime in this case, then so be it. It’s not like they’re out selling drugs, stealing cars, killing people or beating their spouses.

I’m also not afraid to admit that my “inner being” did a happy dance of joy when the protesters infiltrated the Joyce while Obama was speaking. Go team.

  15. Oh, I have to add that I could seriously have lived without the people who kept calling the jail staff and telling them to “rot in hell” etc etc etc

I’m sure that those folks are real winners in life. The people I spoke to who were from actual organizations were not impressed by that. They were there to make a point and not harass the police on the phone.
