So I go into Ann Lynn’s office (LSC Administrative Assistant) and she has sitting on top of a filing cabinet a box full of old barf bags & motion sickness bags in a box with some old school numbers we used to use for an old attendance board we had in the front of the auditorium (yea…that is old school).  I thought, “Why does Ann have barf bags in her office?  Is this job making her sick?”  And why are they with attendance numbers?  Was it so bad that the person putting the numbers on the board felt like they were about to vomit and thus needed to keep a supply of barf bags handy?  Weird.  Apparently the working conditions of LSC can make you sick.

I know it is sort of late notice, but I want to encourage any South Siders who might be interested – there is a Town Hall Meeting at Hamilton Traditional School tonight @ 6:30 p.m. between the three candidates who are running for the District 2 School Board position:  1) Ralph Pieniazkiewich (I); 2) John F. Stancati; and 3) Michael M. Voll.

I was asked to moderate the meeting which I would LOVE to do.  Unfortunately, I had another meeting scheduled and can’t be in attendance.  I’m sending my wife to take good notes!  But I think this is an excellent forum and if you could make it – I think it would be helpful to you.

[I'll leave my political opinions on this matter out of this post...for now. :-) ]

This morning Monroe Primary Center had their big Rededication Ceremony.  I was asked to give the Invocation AND Benediction.  It was quite an honor for me.  The first thing they did was rush me to a conference room where I sat with the Superintendent of schools, almost the entire school board (I know…here was my chance right…I have a few issues I would like to discuss), city government dignitaries, Architects, and me (can you say, “Which one doesn’t belong?”).  It was a great ceremony.  In the program there is a “Special Thanks To:” section.  The Living Stones Church got a shout out in that section!!!  It was sweet.  Here is a picture taken during the program.  I’m the goofy one all the way to the left (the one not wearing a tie & obviously distracted by something shiny to the left):

The reason I didn’t wear a tie is because Principal VanDriessche & Sharon Gilbert had a shirt made for me!!  My own Monroe shirt with my name embroidered in it!!  YES!!!  I’m beaming with pride in it!

Jesus’ Favorite Pizza

We were wrapping up our staff meeting when two girls from Little Caesars walks in with three pizzas and tells us it is a gift from Little Caesars.  I guess it was some promotional thing for local businesses that came along with some flyers.  But I believe that since I mention every week that it is Jesus‘ favorite pizza that He was the one who really sent them.  I love Jesus.
