Where Does God Want You to go to Church in South Bend, IN?

Posted: December 14, 2009 in Living Stones Church, vision

A family has started attending the Living Stones Church.  In a conversation on Saturday I asked what brought them to Living Stones Church.  They responded – God – through Google (this is my paraphrase).

Turns out, they sat down at the computer and typed:  “God, what church do you want me to go to in South Bend, IN?”  Do you know what comes up as the first church listed?  Yep.  Living Stones Church.

So, I came home and tried it.  Sure enough…Living Stones Church was the first thing that came up on Google.

If you type, “What church should I go to in South Bend, IN?” (notice the absence of God in this question 🙂 ) It will say Little Flower Catholic Church.

But if you are interested in where God wants you to go…then…its Living Stones Church.

I’m just saying…. 🙂

Great endorsement. If Google says so, it MUST be true! I’m going to a church in Mishawaka, so I’m safe.

Google’s results are obviously based on churches with cool bare wood roof beams and names beginning with “Li”

Google wouldn’t even look at the church when it had Donmoyer in the name since few people, let alone search engines, could pronounce it without saying “Donny Moyah”

My Google results, as of 10:45 pm on Monday:

    1) sambarrington.com
    2) Living Stones
    3) South Bend Christian Reformed (I’m cool with them — they’re also a Young Life sponsor, and we have friends there…)

So Sam, I’ll be coming to your house on Sunday morning. If you’re not there, I’ll try 718 E. Donmoyer.

Actually, it helps that you update the LS website regularly. That’s one of the factors that Google uses when prioritizing results for a search. Irregardless, that’s cool!
