Memorial Day Weekend

Posted: June 1, 2010 in Uncategorized

Memorial Day weekend and we didn’t have a single baseball or softball game to attend.  [Picture me with a huge smile and sighing in delight].

Sunday afternoon we were invited, along with some other pastors and their families, to Greg Frohna’s house for a cookout.  Had a great time.  Excellent food.  Excellent conversation.  I killed everyone in badminton (I did…ask them).  Greg lives in Granger, so after we showed our passport, they let us in their country.  It is very nice.  Seems to have a high standard of living :-).  Muchos gracias to Greg and Wendy for showing us great hospitality.

Monday we saw Prince of Persia (I thought it was pretty good…not spectacular…but better than any other movie I’ve seen in 2010 which have ALL been extremely disappointing to me).  Afterwards we went to a cookout which was rudely interrupted by an ER trip for my middle son, Caleb.  All of a sudden he couldn’t breath.  He had very short and rapid breaths.  He looked like he was starting to panic.  I was starting to panic, so we went to the ER.

While in the ER (the smaller waiting room they put you in after the large one), Caleb and I were watching a Phineas and Ferb episode and in it, one of the cartoon characters started breathing EXACTLY like Caleb did.  Then another character mentioned he was hyperventilating.  And that is what happened to Caleb.  We are going to pay BIG time bucks to Memorial Hospital when, in fact, Phineas and Ferb was more than capable of diagnosing the problem!  The doctor confirmed Phineas and Ferb’s diagnosis and sent us home.  What a day.

Sam…just now reading some blogs…thanks for the kudos. And as they say at Chick-fil-A, “it was our pleasure.” Next we make a trip to your side of town! GF
