Craving the New Testament

Posted: September 30, 2010 in Uncategorized

This year I am reading through the Bible using my favorite online Bible program – youversion.com (you should too).  They have a zillion different reading plans (this could be a slight exaggeration).

This year I decided to do the Chronological one.  It takes me chronologically through the Bible.  I have loved it.  I have really appreciated the intertwining of the books of history with its accompanying prophetic literature and Psalms.  It has been great.

Only one down side.  I finally finished the Old Testament today.  3/4 of the year is over and ALL of the readings have been from the Old Testament.  That will tell you the size and scope of the Old Testament.  Tomorrow I finally start the New Testament.  That’s good – because I’m craving it.

  1. The Bishop says:

Doing the same reading plan, only I’m using OliveTree for iPads. Ha, ha, ha. Okay, that was somewhat juvenile, but spending this amount of time in the Old Testament keeps me on the lookout for unblemished first-born bulls and sheep. Also, I’ve spent a lot of time knocking down Asherah poles.

  2. the other ed says:

Working in a steel business, I find myself ina constant state of uncleanliness, so you would not believe the amount of doves and pigeons I go through!!!! However, I have yet to find a good source of sanctified water to bathe in
