Family Vacation

Thanks to the generosity of Chuck & Diane Barrington, my family and I were able to enjoy a most fantastic week last week at Disney World!!  Every couple of years for our “Christmas gift” my parents have taken us (along with my sister, brother-in-law, nephew, and niece) to Disney World.  Our first trip was when Isaac was 2.  This was our sixth trip.  It was our favorite so far!!  It is interesting to see Isaac’s growth in Disney pictures since he was two.  He isn’t two anymore!

My favorite (or interesting) parts of the Disney Trip:

  • The steak at Le Cellier’s (best I’ve ever had).
  • The fireworks and light show at Magic Kingdom at the end of the day.
  • The safari ride at Animal Kingdom.
  • The meat bonanza at O’hana (in Polynesian Resort).  All the chicken, shrimp, pork, and beef you could eat!
  • Felt like just as many international guests present as Americans.
  • Foreigners are (stereotyped) skinnier and seem to dress nicer to the theme parks than Americans.
  • Got to be in the Hoopty-Doo show.
  • Watching game six of the World Series at the resort (OK…that doesn’t have much to do with Disney…but what a game!)
  • Character breakfast at Crystal Palace.
  • My dad kissed Winnie the Poo on the nose (Winnie sort of forced it).
  • The Rockin’ Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror!
  • Eating at Germany’s restaurant.
  • Actually getting to see all the countries at EPCOT.
  • They just remodeled Space Mountain.  It is just as jerky and painful as it used to be.
  • The weather was incredible.
  • Being entertained by the end of the day melt-down kids were having at the “happiest place on earth.”
  • Watching my kids laugh and have a good time.
  • The Monster’s Inc. Laugh Floor – Caleb got two jokes in and someone in our family always made the big screen.
  • Food & Wine Festival (spotlighting different countries) at EPCOT.
  • Everything (just in case I forgot something).

  1. The Bishop says:

I’m consulting an attorney about the possibility of filing a sexual harassment suit against Winnie the Pooh. That incident was entirely unsolicited.

  2. the other ed says:

I hear Herman Cain might be a valuable resource on the matter…
